October 30 —The Division of Fire Safety will be hosting special regional heating safety seminars for Emergency responders and local safety teams around the state. Addison/Rutland Counties: October 30; 7pm - 9pm; Brandon Fire Dept., 61 Franklin St , Brandon—These seminars will cover many of the safety issues surrounding the use alternative heating and wood stoves. The seminar will also cover how fire departments and community groups can set up a home safety survey program and a smoke alarm program to help keep people in their community safe.

Fall sign-up—VEM and VHS are developing a tabletop exercise and drill, with the tabletops scheduled for January ’09 and the drills in May. Training is in phases. Three 2-hour sessions for the tabletops and three 2-hour sessions for the drills. Anyone interested in attending the training sessions should get in touch with Tim, ACEPC Coordinator, 388-3141, ASAP. Training sessions attendees will not participate in the actual exercises and drills.
